How it goes

Easy. Here's the whole thing.

1

Reach out

Call, email, or book online. Tell me what you're signing, where, and when. I'll give you the price right then — no mystery.

2

I show up

Have your photo ID handy and leave the document unsigned till I'm there. I come to you, on time.

3

Done

We sign, I stamp it, you're set. If it's headed overseas, I take it from there and get it to Lansing.

Where I go

Based in Washtenaw County, out the door most of southern Michigan.

I'll drive up to about two hours to reach you, anywhere in the state. Here's where I run most often:

Ann Arbor & Washtenaw Detroit metro Wayne · Oakland · Macomb Lansing & East Lansing Jackson Brighton · Livingston Monroe Flint Grand Rapids area

Don't see your town? Call anyway. If you're a little outside my usual range I'll tell you straight, and if I can't make it I'll help you find someone who can.

What it costs

No surprises. You'll know the price before I leave.

There are two parts: the flat fee per signature, and a travel fee to come to you. That's it.

Each signature Flat $10 per signature I notarize. That's the state rate, same everywhere.
$10 / signature

Here in Washtenaw County

$40

Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Chelsea, Dexter — my home turf.

Anywhere else

$60

Any county outside Washtenaw, within my driving range.

Long haul? (more than 60 miles out)

If you're more than 60 miles away, I add $10 for every 10 miles past that, on top of the travel fee. Gas isn't free, but I keep it fair.

For example: a 70-mile trip to the next county for one signature runs $80 — $60 to travel, $10 for the extra miles, $10 for the signature.

Apostilles

From $199

Every one's a little different — depends on the document, how many you've got, and how fast you need it. Give me a call and I'll quote you honestly.

Jail & prison visits

From $99

Pricing depends on the facility, what's required to get in, and the drive. Tell me where, and I'll sort out the rest.

Coming to you

  1. Once we lock in a time, I send you a quick bill for the travel fee.
  2. You pay that by card before I head out — that's what holds your spot.
  3. The $10 per signature is settled when I'm there — card or cash, your call.

Apostilles & prison visits

Because these take more planning, the full fee is paid by card when you book. Once that's in, I get to work lining everything up.

I'll always tell you the full price up front. The $10 signature fee is set by the State of Michigan; travel and specialty fees are separate from it. Prepaid fees are card only; the signature fee at signing can be card or cash. I'm a notary, not a lawyer — I can't give legal advice or write your documents for you. And just so it's clear: I get apostilles processed for you, but the State of Michigan is the one that actually issues them.

Let's get it signed.

Give me a call, shoot me an email, or grab a time online. Most weeks I can get to you within a day or two — and if it's urgent, say so.
